321,574. Gee, W. J. Nov. 30, 1928. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Variable - speed gearing.-In variablespeed gearing of the type described in Specifications 115,857, 130,174, 245,250 and 260,065 in which the speed changes are effected by dividing one of the elements i n t o longitudinal slidable sections, and allowing slip, the control is effected by means of an adjustable flat guide carrying a non-circular pathway. The sliding sections 4 carry radial pillars 10 on which are rotatably and slidably mounted balls 12 which run in the non- circular ball-race 6, 6 carried in a ring 7 pivotally carried at 8. The pathway 6, 6 is shaped to give uniform axial movement of the sections during their period of engagement.
