Expanding pulley gearing comprises a double intermediate expanding pulley c turning loosely upon a spindle d carried by arms e turning about a fixed or adjustable pivot f. This pulley comprises a pair of inner flanges upon a sleeve g which slides and turns relatively to an inner sleeve to which the outer flanges are secured.
