Abstract

320,318. Johnson, J. Y., (I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges.). June 8, 1928. Ammonium phosphates. - Alkali metal and ammonium phosphates are prepared by heating an intimate mixture of dicalcium phosphate and alkali metal or ammonium bisulphate to a temperature of about 50-60‹ C. but not above the sintering point of the mixture. The heating may be effected by carrying the mixture on an endless band through a tunnel furnace. The reaction mass is lixiviated preferably on the counterflow principle to obtain a concentrated solution of the phosphate from which the solid salt is obtained by evaporation and crystallization or by spraydrying.
