Abstract
1,238,404. Condensed ammonium phosphate. KNAPSACK A.G. 3 June, 1969 [6 June, 1968], No. 27957/69. Heading C1A. [Also in Division A5] Condensed ammonium phosphates with a degree of condensation, " n," above 50 in the formula (NH 4 ) n+2 P n O 3n+1 are produced from polyphosphoric acid containing more than 76% by wt. P 2 O 5 by heating to 80-100 C. and then introducing gaseous NH 3 . The mixture is kept at 300-330 C. until the exothermic reaction ceases, and then held at 230-270 C. until a viscous crystalline magma is formed. This is cooled, washed, dried and annealed at 100 C. at least for at least 15 mins., in ammonia.
