Abstract

Peroxyhydrates of sodium condensed phosphates are made by mixing one mole condensed phosphate into at least three moles of 45 to 75% wt./wt., preferably 58 to 62%, H2O2, keeping the temperature below about 60 DEG C., pouring the resultant solution on to sufficient sodium condensed phosphate to bind the still free H2O2 and leaving the soft homogeneous paste to solidify, the solid then being dried at up to 100 DEG C. Condensed phosphates specified are pyro-, tri-, meta- and polyphosphates. Examples describe the use of pyrophosphates. Specification 679,908 is referred to.
