318,730. Stove, A. E. Aug. 14, 1928. Gauge glasses.-The fittings b into which a gauge glass a is secured, are each provided with an annular flange d having two diametrically opposite gaps, and one side of the flange is inclined as at e. A locking ring h, Fig. 4, is provided with two lugs i which pass through the gaps, and the ring is then turned so that the lugs engage with the inclined faces of the flanges, and the ring g is compressed. The locking ring is provided with a recess for a bearing ring k retained by set screws l. The usual screwed plug at the top of the fitting b is replaced by a cap o having lugs p adapted to engage with shoulders n. A disc q with projecting stud r is mounted in the cap o.
