Abstract
314,977. Aktiebolaget Kemiska Patenter, (Assignees of Konstgodningsfabriks Aktiebolaget i Landskrona). July 7, 1928, [Convention date]. Grant of Patent opposed. Phosphoric acid. - In decomposing phosphate materials with sulphuric acid in presence of phosphoric acid, the decomposition is effected in a closed vessel under pressure whereby foaming is prevented and a higher temperature may be used resulting in the formation of an easilyseparatable precipitate of calcium sulphate in the form CaSO4.¢H2O or anhydrite, or a mixture of these. Phosphoric acid solution from a previous operation containing at least 15 per cent P2O5 may be mixed with the phosphate material, and the mixture introduced into sulphuric acid. The reaction may be carried out under the conditions of temperature and concentration of sulphuric acid described in Specification 314,976, the temperature being preferably at least (120-p)‹ C. where p is the per cent by weight of P2O5 in the phosphoric acid supplied to the reaction mixture.
