Abstract
1,211,537. Urea phosphate. POWER-GAS CORP. Ltd. 24 Nov., 1967 [2 Dec., 1966], No. 54058/66. Heading C2C. [Also in Division C1] Urea phosphate is produced by acidulating phosphate rock with sulphuric acid or phosphoric acid, or a mixture of the two, so that substantially all of the P 2 O 5 in the phosphate rock is converted into the monocalcium phosphate, reacting the product of said acidulation with a sufficient quantity of urea sulphate and urea in aqueous solution so that substantially all of the monocalcium phosphate is decomposed into calcium sulphate and urea phosphate is formed, the temperature being kept below 90‹ C. so that the calcium sulphate is precipitated substantially in the form of gypsum, and either withdrawing the reaction product containing gypsum or removing the gypsum from the reaction product and withdrawing the remaining reaction product. The urea phosphate produced may be used as a fertilizer (see Division D1).
