Gauging-apparatus.-A vehicle wheel alignment indicator comprises a pair of members mounted to be movable toward and from one another by the rolling contact of the wheels therewith, equalizing means connecting said members together, and an indicator to show the movements of said equalizing means. A shallow elongated base 11 adapted to rest on a garage floor and provided with oppositely inclined approaches 12 supports on antifriction bearings two aligned plates 13, 14 connected by rods 18, 19 of equal length to an equalizer bar 16 mounted on a pivot 17, the bar 16 being provided with a pointer 21 moving over a scale 22. The vehicle whose wheels pass over the device at the same time is free to move laterally in either direction and misalignment of the wheels is shown on the indicator.
