Abstract
740,712. Underframing of track vehicles. MASCHINENFABRIK ESSLINGEN. March 2, 1953 [March 1, 1952], No. 5816/53. Class 103 (6). The main frame of a vehicle mounted on bogies is resiliently supported on each bogie, the supporting points being connected with each other in pairs longitudinally of the bogie so that the two supporting points of a pair are constrained to move together vertically through the same distance and in the same direction independently of any differences between the loads acting on the two supporting points. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1, each side of the bogie is provided with two sliding blocks 1 coupled together by means of levers 2 and a link 2a and supported by springs 3, so that however the load is distributed the springs are affected to the same extent. The inner end of the levers instead of being connected by the link 2a could be formed as inter-engaging toothed segments. In the arrangement shown in Figs. 4 and 5, the sliding blocks 1 with associated springs 4 are connected by lever arms 7 to a rigid shaft 6 whereby the load on the sliding blocks is transmitted equally to both springs.
