Stocks.-The fore-stock 47 is constructed in the form of a tube, preferably of oval cross-section, surrounding the gun barrel 36 and the gas chamber 40. The fore-stock is retained on the barrel by a ring 48 which also retains a sleeve 49 protecting the barrel and gas chamber in front of the fore-stock.
