Ordnance design. - The recoil-diminishing muzzle-attachment described in the parent Specification has its interior a, b, b<1> formed of divergent shape and is prolonged by a plug G having an annular channel g for the escape of gas and a smooth central bore G<1>. The attachment B which retains the divergent ring A is screwed to a divided sleeve D secured by bolts E to the gun muzzle C, and its interior wall a, b, b<1> is provided with longitudinal projections F, as described in the parent Specification, which conform to the bore of the barrel and serve to guide the driving- band of the projectile. The plug G is screwed into a two-part ring H, which is itself screwed to the front of the attachment B, the two parts of the ring II being connected by webs h of streamline section. Specifications 124,446 and 131,040 are referred to.
