Projectiles. - Relates to projectiles for use in smooth-bore muzzle-loading guns or mortars, and of the kind having a total length of 3.5 to 4 calibres and tapered at both ends, the rear ending in a winged tail. According to the invention, the tapered rear part 4 has a length of 1.5 to 2 calibres, the tail 6 has a length of 1 calibre or less, and the centre of gravity resides in the front half of the projectile.
