Abstract

308,196. Akt.-Ges. Brown, Boveri, et Cie. March 19, 1928, [Convention date]. Generating in jackets around explosion chambers.-The fuel explosion chamber 1 of a steam generator is lined with evaporator tubes 4 having coaxial tubes 5 for the explosion gases. The chamber is charged with the explosive mixture of fuel and air through a valve 2 and the explosion products pass through the tubes 5 to a header corrmunicating with a discharge-valve 15. The feed water supplied through a tube 14 to a steam separator 12 is circulated by a pump 11 through the header 7, evaporator tubes 4, and header 8 back to the separator from which the steam is withdrawn through a pipe 13. Superheater tubes 16 may be disposed at one end of the chamber. The explosion gases after passing through the evaporator tubes may be used to preheat the feed water.
