Abstract
305,931. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt. Ges. Feb. 11, 1928, [Convention date]. Alkali-metal compounds recovering from waste lyes.-Waste alkali lyes containing organic matters, such as are obtained in making artificial silk, are treated with chlorine at about ordinary temperature. The organic substances become oxidized to carbon dioxide which escapes, and a solution of alkali hypochlorite remains.
