273,841. Salzwerk Heilbronn Akt.- Ges., Lichtenberger, T., and Flor, K. April 16, 1926. Addition to 251,942. Sulphur.-In the process for preparing sulphur from alkaline earth sulphates claimed in the parent Specification, the sodium chloride used as a flux is replaced by other alkali or alkaline earth salts or mixtures of such salts, provided they are fusible without liberating water and have no decomposing action on alkaline earth sulphates when in a fused state. Particularly suitable are the sulphates of the alkalies, and also the fluorides of the alkalies and alkaline earths alone or mixed with other alkali or alkaline earth salts. Alkali or alkaline earth salts may be employed which either alone or when mixed split off acid in the fused mass when steam is blown in, the alkaline earth sulphide being thereby decomposed into an alkaline earth salt and sulphuretted hydrogen.
