Abstract

299,983. Lee, H. W., and Kapella, Ltd. Oct. 12, 1927. Lenses.-To provide a lens with an aperture of F/1.8 and adequate corrections, the front doublet of a Petzval lens is replaced by a triple anastigmat lens, e.g. of the type described in Specification 155.640. The back doublet may be of the original form or with the flint component towards the focal plane. Alternatively, the triplet back element and the doublet may be interchanged. The focal length of neither triplet nor doublet exceeds twice that of the other, and the negative element of the doublet is either plano or double concave. Numerical data of two examples are given in the Specification.
