Abstract

258,092. Warmisham, A., and Kapella, Ltd. Sept. 26, 1925. Lenses.-In photographic objectives of the Petzval type the zonal spherical aberration is. reduced, permitting a corresponding increase in working aperture, by dividing the front convergent member into two convergent members, Fig. 3. Alternatively, the convergent component of the back member of the lens may be two convergent members, or both front and back members may be thus constructed, Fig. 6. The two front convergent members are meniscusshaped and present their concave surfaces toward the back of the lens. Numerical data for examples of lenses having an aperture of F/1.5 are given in the Specification.
