Abstract
297,845. Stock Motorpflug Akt.-Ges. Sept. 29, 1927, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Clutches, friction.-A friction clutch, particularly applicable as one of a pair for driving and steering endless-track vehicles, comprises a cone 8, slidable by claws 7 on the driving-shaft 4, a cone 10 fast on the driven shaft 9 and an intermediate loose disc 15, pressed by a spring 16 against a lined flange 8<1> of the cone 8 and provided with cam-surfaces 13 to coact with a round pin 14 or complementary cam on the shaft 9, so that the clutch 8, 10 is put into engagement by the driving-effort. A loose brake-drum 19 carries pins 20, passing through arcuate slots 22, 21 in the cone 10 and disc 15, so that application of a brake-band 23 retards the disc 15 and releases the clutch . The slots 22 are of such length that the pin 14 cannot move on to the ascending face of the cam 13 when the disc is so retarded. The invention is applicable also to multiple-plate clutches.
