Rigid - jam wrenches; handles.-A box spanner comprises a head 1 with nut aperture 2 fixed on the end of a stem 4 provided at. its rear end with a member 6 in which a sliding tommy bar 7 is mounted. The tommy bar is cranked at 7<a> to enable it to be rotated continuously and is secured in different positions in the member 6 by means of a. spring-pressed ball 9 and notches 11. A lateral nut aperture 3 is provided for initial slackening and final tightening. The grip 5 on the stem 4 is preferably rotatable.
