Feedwater, controlling.-Apparatus for con. trolling the feedwater supply to a boiler comprises a thermostatic tube in which is maintained a water column that has its height varied in accordance with the steam flow, contraction of the tube being arranged to open the feedwater valve. The invention is described in connection with the apparatus shown in Specification 297,305 in which the thermostat 10 operates the feedwater valve 24 and is connected to opposite sides of a restricted orifice 25 in the steam main.
