Abstract

238,985. Clark, R. June 17, 1924. Safety-valves.-An apparatus for regulating the supply of feed water by means of a pressure fluid subject to varying temperature due to variations in the boiler water level, is provided with an automatic valve to control the flow of liquid from its closed circuit into the pressure-producing chamber which is in contact with the boiler water and/or steam. A chamber a has passages b communicating with the actuating device of the feed-water regulating valve c with the flow side, and d with the return side of the closed system. The passage d is controlled by a valve e secured to an actuating diaphragm h, and moving over a fixed spindle l. A stop o is provided on the spindle which is threaded into a sleeve n screwed into the casing r. The stop o is adjustable by moving the sleeve n. The adjusting sleeve is protected by a cap t. The valve opens at a predetermined pressure in the chamber a.
