Abstract

297,123. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. Sept. 15, 1927, [Convention date]. Addition to 285,382 and 286,005. Sulphuretted dyes are produced by subjecting the indophenols and leucoindophenols, prepared according to Specification 285,382 to polysulphide fusion. In examples : (1) the leuco indophenol from hexahydrocarbazole and p-aminophenol is heated with calcined sodium sulphide, sulphur and alcohol, and the alcohol finally removed by distillation. The dyestuff, which dyes cotton bluish violet shades is freed from sulphur by means of a solvent; (2) the leuco indophenol from octahydro-a-naphthaquinoline and p-aminophenol is refluxed with alcohol sodium sulphide in the presence of sulphur and copper sulphate; (3) the leuco indophenol from octahydroacridine and p-aminophenol, on treating as described in example (1) gives a, dyestuff which dyes cotton from a sodium sulphide bath, deep green shades.
