Abstract
296,873. Mavor & Coulson, Ltd., and Thomson, J. Aug. 9, 1927. Driving-gear for endless - belt and chain conveyers. - A motor disposed at one side of the conveyer drives through spur gearing 2, 3 and 4, 5 a shaft 6 which extends transversely of the conveyer. The shaft 6 is connected by spur gearing 7, 8 to the shaft of the driving drum B. The gears 7, 8; 2, 3; 4, 5 are contained in casings E, F, G, respectively, which are formed to retain lubricant. The inner sides of the casings E, F act as continuations of the side walls of the conveyer. In a modification in which two driving drums B<1>, B<2>, Fig. 9, are provided, a transverse shaft 4<1>, Fig. 6, driven by the motor through spur gearing 2<1>, 3<1> is connected by gears 5<1>, 6<1>, 7<1>, 8<1> to the shaft of the drum B<1>. The gear 8<1> meshes with a gear 0' on the shaft of the drum B<2>.
