Abstract

19,915. Spence, W. L. Sept. 3. Driving-gear for endless - belt conveyers. - The belt passes round a tail drum A, over an intermediate drum B, and beneath a drum C to the return run. The drums A, B are internally toothed on each side and are driven by pinions F, G projecting from a casing Q which can be attached to either side of the framing. The pinions are mounted on the shafts of worm wheels Q<1>, Q<2> geared together by spurwheels L, M, and driven from a worm shaft having a clutch coupling at eachend. Thecouplings secure the worm shaft to a motor P attached by its side to the frame. The drum C may be driven from the drum A by chain gear X. Specifications 16,229/97 and 23,328/02 are referred to.
