Pile tables for sheet feeds.-To maintain even front edges of piles from which sheets are separated by suction devices, the supports for the front of the pile comprise adjustable members 20 at the corners which can be adjusted relatively to members 6, 11 which support the central portions of the front edges. The plates 6, 11 are flush with the main pile table 1, the plate 6 being fixed to a sleeve 5 mounted on a fixed shaft 3 in a bearing 2 attached to the table 1. The side plates 11 are carried by sleeves 10 freely mounted on shafts 8. The shafts 8 are mounted at one end on pins engaging recesses 7 in the shaft 3, and at the other ends in bearings carried by the table 1. The plates 11 are strengthened by webs 14, are prevented from rotation by a flap 16 resting between iron bars 18, and have a tongue and groove engagement with guide rods 13. The rods 13 for the plates 11 at opposite sides of the pile are simultaneously operated by a right- and-left hand screw to adjust, the plates 11 for sheets of different widths. The plates 20 are mounted on sleeves 19 splined to the shafts 8, and movable transversely with the plates 11 owing to a bolt-and-nut connection of sleeves 21 with the flaps 16. Each plate 20 is adjustable by means of a screwed spindle 25 engaging an arm 24 fixed to the shaft 8, and pressed by a spring into engagement with the spindle 25. The nut 27 in which the screw 25 works is secured by a flap 28 to the groove 26 in the pile table in which the side holders of the pile are mounted.
