Abstract

Induction pipes, extra air valves and fittings for.-In extra air valves of the type comprising a body 7 adapted to be mounted in the induction pipe 5 and provided with an annular recess 6, to which air is supplied, surrounding the induction passage, the recess 6 is separated from the passage in a radial direction by an imperforate partition 14 which is arranged to constrict the passage and to provide an air port 16 facing in the direction of flow of the mixture stream. The partition 14 may taper towards the port 16, and an annular coil of wire may be disposed in the recess 6 as described in Specification 223,182. The partition 14 may be integral with the body 7, or may comprise a ring provided with a flange 15 adapted to be clamped between the body 7 and the induction pipe 5. The air supplied to the recess 6 may be admitted through screens 9 to a passage 10 controlled by a valve operated by a Bowden wire 11, and a pet cock 12 may be fitted to supply fuel to the recess 6 for starting.
