Abstract

295,124. Lightbown, W., and Hacking & Co., Ltd. Aug. 6, 1927. Letting-off warps.-In letting-off motions of the type described in Specification 198,718, having bottom spring-controlled levers 10 carrying a cranked shaft connected by hooks 8 to warpbeam tensioning-chains 6, a lever 21 fast to a shaft 15 extending beneath both levers 10 is raised by a rod or cable &c. operated by a jacquard hook or dobby jack or otherwise when it is desired to form fringes for towelling, shawls &c. Notched discs 17 on the shaft 15 engage catches 19 pivoted to the levers 10, which are thus raised when the lever 21 and shaft 15 are turned so that the warp tension is relieved. The warp passes over a back bearer 3 mounted on levers 4 carrying hooks 5 with threaded shanks and adjusting nuts attached to the chains 6.
