Dobbies; shedding-levers. - In a miniature dobby intended for use in addition to the ordinary shedding - mechanism and arranged to weave names, trade-marks, &c. into the border or other portion of a fabric, the jack levers 9 are pivoted at 8 to levers 6 and are provided with extensions. 9<2>, which hear against a stationary rod 14 and thus cause the levers 9 to be lifted when the levers 6 are turned. The levers 6 are pivoted at 7 and have extensions 6<1> pivoted to balk levers 16. The rod 14 is adjustable in holes 15<1> to vary the lift of the levers 9. The pattern cylinder 24, which controls the hooks 17, 18 engaged by draw-bars 22, 22', is caused to remain stationary at intervals, so as to leave spaces between the trade-marks &c., by means of a pair of anxiliary pattern cylinders carrying chains which control the turning- catch of the cylinder 24. The auxiliary pattern chains differ in length by one link. and each chain has one low link, the parts being so arranged that the turning-catch for the cylinder 24 is allowed to operate only when the two low links are both opposite a feeler lever which controls the said catch.
