Abstract
204,417. Taylor, H., and Leigh, J. N. July 4, 1922. Pile-fabric looms.-The reed k, Fig. 1, is normally pressed upon by flat elongated springs a fixed to the laysword shaft b and coacting with strips c<1>. Hooks e operated by lever mechanism from the jacquard or dobby can be lowered into the path of cross pins a<1> on the springs a, whereby the reed is released. In a modification, the reed is acted upon by levers a, Fig. 7, controlled by springs a<2> so as normally to be free, but it can be held fast by the pins a' and hooks e. According to the Provisional Specification, spring levers fixed to the lower part of the reed and pivoted on the laysword are used.
