Abstract

377,568. Loom warp stop motions. HELD, 0. and HELD, H., (trading as EGELHAAF, C. C.), Betzingen, Reutlingen, Wurttemberg, Germany. Jan. 20, 1932, No. 1807. Convention date, Jan. 21, 1931. [Class 142 (i).] In warp stop motions in which metal drop pieces on the healds make contact with insulated bars on the heald frames when the frames are raised, and continue to make contact, in the event of broken warps, when the frames are lowered, the contact bars of two or more corresponding heald shafts are connected in series with a single interrupter and a magnetic clutch. The interrupter is operative only when the shed is being changed. The contact bars may be divided into groups, each group having its contact bars in series but the groups being coupled in parallel. Fig. 7 shows an arrangement in which the contact bars are arranged in series, it being assumed that only one of the shafts I .. IV will be down at a time. In Fig. 8, in which the shafts operate so that shafts I and III are up while the others are down, the contact bars are arranged in the series-parallel manner. In either case, when a drop piece of a heald of a broken warp makes contact with the contact bars of a lowered heald frame, the circuit is completed and the loom is stopped.
