649,208. Leno shedding mechanism. POWDRELL & ALEXANDER, Inc. Aug. 23, 1948, No. 22176. Convention date, Sept. 5, 1947. [Class 142(i)] In a shedding mechanism enabling leno weaving to be alternated with ordinary weaving, the heddles 23 have an eye 35 for the standard thread S of a pair and a long slot 47 for the crossing thread C, so that the threads always cross at the point X (thereby equalizing the thread tension when douping to the right and left) and so that during ordinary weaving the standard threads S can be shed without displacing the crossing threads C (which are left at the bottom of the shed).
