Abstract
639,715. Leno shedding mechanism; centre selvedges. PICANOL, J. Jan. 29, 1947, No. 2751. Convention date, Nov. 27, 1943. [Classes 142 (i) and 142 (iv)] Shedding mechanism for leno-woven centre selvedges comprises three strips 1, 2, 3 whereby standing warp threads a, b cross with a warp thread c. Each crossing warp thread c passes through straight slots 12 in the strips 3, 2 and through the eye 7 of a needle 5 on the strip 1; each standing thread a, b passes through a slot 10 in one of the strips 2, 3 and through a horizontal slot 14 in the other of these strips. By vertical movements of the strips, the threads a, b are brought below the needles 5 and are moved sideways by the curved middle sections of the slots 10, so that they rise on the right and left of the needles alternately.
