[Class 142 (i).] In order that the bind by the weft threads on certain selected warp threads may be increased beyond that provided by the self-twilling mechanism, the twilling hooks A at each side of the jacquard are made with a prolonged shaft a at the top bent to provide a laterally disposed head a<2> parallel to the branders D and projecting beyond the adjacent pattern hook B which has a hook b<1> on an extension for engagement by the part a<2> and a prolonged lower part b<2> bent to form an open or closed loop b<4> with a hook b<3> for resting on the grid bars H. Additional harness cords c<1> extend from the modified pattern hooks A and are connected to selected ordinary harness cords c by which the selected warp threads are raised and intersected with the wefts on picks additional to those provided for by the self-twilling mechanism and as determined by needles K controlling the hooks B.
