Keys.-A touch-adjustment device consists of a horizontal coiled spring 10, Fig. 2, connected to a pin 5 on a depending arm 4 of the escapement 2, and to a non-rotatable screw 11 passing through a lug 13 on a bracket 14 and provided with an adjusting-nut 15 which is accessible from the rear of the machine. The screw may have a non-circular shank engaging a similar aperture 12 in the lug.
