The boss k of the endplate g is positioned on the journal b by a ring o and secured by a. screw p and a stuffing-box is formed between the journal and the boss, and the end-plate It is slidably supported on the journal c. In a modification, the stuffing-box and the screw are dispensed with and the boss of the end-plate is secured to the journal by rings. In another arrangement, the boss is formed with an inwardly directed flange which engages with a recess in the journal. In a further modification, the boss is positioned by a resilient ring s, Fig. 6, and secured to the journal by a screw.
