Abstract

236,405. Johnson, J. Y., (Smith, Drum, & Co.). Aug. 19, 1924. Agitating materials and liquids together. - A paddle-wheel for use in dyeing &c. machines comprises endplates 2 secured to hubs 3 on a shaft 1 and having fixed to their inner sides angle-bars 4 to the inwardly projecting flanges of which are secured vanes 5, rollers 6, journaled on the end-plates 2, being freely rotatable at the outer edges of the vanes 5. Each roller 6 consists of a tube 7, the opposite ends of which carry roller bearings 8 journaled on a cross-rod 9 having reduced extremities 10 projecting through guard plates 11 and the end-plates 2 or threaded for the reception of semi-circular nuts 12.
