Low-pressure metallic-vapour apparatus; vacuum tubes.-In a system of lighting in which a number of different coloured sources of light are employed, violet or blue rays are produced by a mercury vapour arc lamp I, green rays are produced by mercury vapour arc lamps II made of yellow or green glass or provided with exchangeable yellow or green glass filters a, and yellow and red rays are produced by sodium-potassium vapour lamps III. The sodium-potassium alloy may contain about 23 per cent sodium and 77 per cent potassium, and the tubes may be filled with a gas such as neon. Specification 174,747, [Class 75 (iv), Lamps &c. Kinds &c. of ], is referred to.
