Abstract

289,819. Woelm Akt.-Ges., M. May 2, 1927, [Convention date]. Morphine solutions.-Morphine hydrochloride is treated in solution with the quantity of disodium phosphate required to produce a solution having a weakly alkaline reaction corresponding to that of the blood, so as to be suitable for injection. It is stated that the treated solutions remain clear for some time and that the morphine is converted into a lipoid soluble condition. The solutions may be put up in double ampoules, of which one part contains the dry morphine hvdrochloride or a solution thereof, and the other part a dilute solution of secondary sodium phosphate. In the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) it is stated that the morphine solution may contain excess acid and the phosphate solution a corresponding amount of alkali; and the addition of di-sodium phosphate to morphine solutions and morphine salt solutions in general is referred to. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
