Abstract

289,683. Wade, J. T. Aug. 10, 1927. Radial-flow turbine pumps ; casings.-A centrifugal turbine pump has an impeller with radial vanes 8 of double-convex form. and a diffuser 4 round the periphery of the impeller. The diffuser has blades 6 of double-convex form arranged substantially tangentially to the impeller periphery. A modified form for bore-hole work is shown in Fig. 2. The impeller 11 has blades 12 similar in cross section to the blades 8, Fig. 1. A drum 13 is attached to the shaft and carries three rings of moving vanes 14 arranged radially. Each ring moves between rings of fixed guide vanes 15 inclined in a similar manner to the vanes 6, Fig. 1. The construction and arrangement of blades may be employed in turbines.
