Abstract

288,725. Quiggin, D. A. Jan. 14, 1927. Liquid meters for indicating the flow of liquid in a mixed flow of liquid and gas, such as that from evaporators for distilling plants, comprise a chamber to the upper end of which the mixed flow is led tangentially through a trough c<2>. The liquid falls to the bottom, and passes out through a pipe D provided with narrow longitudinal ports or spaced openings d<5>, ribs a<2> preventing rotary movement of the liquid. Scales are provided for a gauge glass G or windows in the chamber. The upper end of the pipe D is preferably received in a flange b<2> perforated at b<3> for the passage of gas.
