Abstract

302,018. Pattison, M. R. Nov. 1, 1927. Steam separators.-Separators for removing impurities from steam or other vapour, or from liquids or gases comprise a number of open bottom tubes c of stream-line section spaced apart to form between them Venturi nozzles or apertures d through which the fluid passes before entering the tubes. A steam purifier comprises a central chamber a, and two purifying chambers b, f on each side containing tubes c. The steam escapes through the tubes from the upper chamber to the lower, and thence to the central chamber, the sludge and impurities passing to a tank g, from which water may overflow into the boiler water through a valve h.
