Abstract

286,950. Quinn, J. July 5, 1927. Valves.-Exhaust and inlet are controlled by separate rotary valves 11, 12 formed with through-ports 17, 18 communicating with cylinder ports and with the manifolds, the exhaust valve 11 being hollow and formed with an internal helical rib which forces cooling-water along the valve, the ends of the valva communicating with the passageway 19 of the water jacket by orifices 35. Oil is supplied to passages 33. Valve gear.-The two valves are fitted with gear wheels 13, 14 over which and over a gear wheel on the crank shaft passes a driving-chain.
