Abstract

236,372. Roskelly, R. H. Aug. 21, 1924. Valves.-An inlet or exhaust valve comprises a pipe 1 closed at one end 6, open at the other end 7 to the carburettor or exhaust, and mounted to rotate in bearings 2, 3 carried by brackets on the cylinder covers 4, 5 and another bearing 8 provided at the open end. The valve is formed with parts 14, 15 communicating with passages 16, 17 leading to the cylinders. Glands 9 - - 13 are fitted to prevent leakage, and longitudinal movement of the valve is prevented by a collar 18.
