Abstract

184,898. Barison, S. May 24, 1921. Materials, special.-A rotary conical valve is formed of a material, such as cast iron or steel, having a less expansion under heat than the valve seat or casing, which may be of bronze aluminium, &c., in order to prevent seizing. The valve is formed with recesses 5, Figs. 8 and 12, which engage successively with the exhaust and inlet ports 3, 2, Fig. 6, leading to the various cylinders. The valve is cooled by internal circulation of lubricating-oil, and is adjustably held to its seat by a nut 7, Fig. 13, engaging thrust bearings 8 at the end of the valve, ,a cap 11 serving to lock the nut 7 in the adjusted position.
