Force-feed lubricating; nozzles. arrangement of.-Lubricant is sprayed directly on to the valve stems 10 of an internal-combustion engine from orifices in a pipe 9 disposed within the cover plate of the valve chamber parallel with the line of valves, the pipe being supplied under pressure from the engine lubricating pump through pipes 1, 7. A branch pipe 6 is connected to a pressure gauge. The orifices may increase progressively in size, so as to counteract the drop in pressure along the pipe, and may be provided with slides whereby the spray through one or more of the orifices may be reduced or cut off.
