Air, controlling circulation of.-The pressure sides of the air-circulating fans 1, 2, 3 of an open-ended drying- tunnel having side heating compartments defining the drying zones of the tunnel communicates through ducts 8, 9, 10 with the heating compartments of the following zone. Moisture-laden air is discharged by the fan 4, while the air at the material inlet end of the tunnel is circulated continuously by the fan 5. In a modification, the tunnel is provided with fans mounted upon vertical axes and working within casings having adjustable guides for directing the air into the heating compartments.
