Exhaust-silencers. - A silencer comprises a body containing a number of partitions 14, 15, 16 which are alternately open at opposite ends so that the exhaust gas, entering at 11, is repeatedly divided and reunited, as shown by the arrows, and finally leaves by a pipe 17 and flows through a number of holes 19 along a pipe 12, past a baffle 20, and through a fish-tailed exit 13, to the atmosphere.
