Abstract
282,832. Akt.-Ges. Brown, Boveri, et Cie. Dec. 30, 1926, [Convention date]. Pumps and forcing apparatus for gases. - Diesel engines are supplied at starting with scavenging air by a compressed air injector which assists or works in place of the normal compressor. The compressor is driven either electrically or by an exhaust turbine, the power being obtained from the main engine and therefore being low at starting. The compressed air for the injector c is either obtained from the usual starting bottle d, or air which has already expanded in one or more engine cylinders a is used in the injector. The delivery piping from the normal compressor b may be used for the supply from the injector.
