Abstract

281,282. Wijnman, J. P. Nov. 25, 1926. [Convention date]. Foot-arch supports.- A rubber, ebonite, &c. insole for boots &c. consists of a central portion 1 of hard but springing material adapted to support the hollow of the foot and a remaining portion 2 of softer material adapted to yield to the form of the foot. The portion 2 consists of rubber mixed with a small amount of sulphur and the portion 1 is rubber mixed with more sulphur; the portion 2 is formed in a mould, the portion 1 is laid thereon, and then the two are pressed together to make the complete sole which is finally vulcanized. The construction is such that the sole exerts no pressure at the sides or at the heel.
